If you would like to audition, please send your sample/demo reels to auditions@starsfandub.com.
If you do not have a sample or demo, we advise one to be created. For samples of demo reels, simply search "anime demo reel" at YouTube.com for examples of other amateur voice actors.
Or, email us and we'll send you an audition document that contains lines for all main characters ONLY.
If possible, please send any audio clips to us in either high quality WAV, MP3, or WMA (Apple formats are also acceptable).
If we find a particular character that we feel you are suited to, we will contact you in an email.

I had a quick question about the demo reels. Do they need to be around a certain length of time? I am trying to put one together to audition for Sailor Tin Cat but I haven't been able to find many clips of her.
They can be as long as you want, but don't have to be just her lines... record whatever anime character or other animated character lines that you wish. It will give us an idea of your vocal range :)

Sailor Moon is the only anime I am passionate about. I don't think I'd put much effort into ones I haven't really watched...
i been a great fan of sailor moon ever since i was young and soon felt this great connection with her .sometimes i feel were the same person and when i sawe this dub i had to tell you thank you so much it has been three year i have been looking for aleast a couple of sailor moon episode of nehelania curse.i really enjoy you and your casts and think they did a great job in that dub i am a sailor moon fan and will love to help i been practing dubs and i think im kinda good. so please ask me and i love to help and i do awesome with serena or usagis voice .Sailor Moon Says hahahah
i would suggest having backups to do voices encase if the original does not have internet access try to find 2 extra backups for each role that sound just like the ones from your first 6 fun dubbed versions infaq release times well be much faster it would take you anywhere from 2 weeks to a month to release on episode if you do...
now your doing good if you can get the original voices from from the first 4 seasons to dub for you for free lol

We are working on them very slowly. A lot of our voice actors have a lot on right now, so we're just a bit delayed... but we already have a brilliant Mars. If you'd like to send us a demo reel of just some sample voices you can do - that would be awesome.

Hello, I sent in my demo reel a couple days ago and I just wanted to see if it was received and/or if I should record anything more specific to the open characters. I see Fighter has been cast now, but if you're still looking for someone to play Maker, would you rather see specific lines?

a demo reel is a sample of your voice, if you would like to apply for stars fandub then record a few lines of the character you want in your own voice. or email starsfandub and ask them to send you some lines. hope that helps :)
A demo reel is a compilation of small clips of different characters you can mimic or just different styles of voices you're capable of. This can include character quotes from other animated series' that you believe you can sound like.
what kind of voice are u guys looking for in sailor lead crow and sailor star maker?

Strong feminine voices. Something along the lines of Prizma for Crow, and perhaps just something close to the original voice for maker.
How do you make an audition reel
record your voice with a microphone or tape recorder that has high quality sound ;)

Do you know what types of microphones your cast uses to record with? I'm just cuirous is all, lol. :)
Snowball mics are supposed to be really good. I think you can find them on ebay, sometimes cheap... other than that, a $30-40 USB one (logitech or other) will do the trick, and there are ways to stop noise interference - like having a super quiet room... having your mic as far from the computer as possible and perhaps putting a blanket or something over it just while your recording to reduce the fan noise. Also if you can get leggings (stockings) and use a thin sheet across a clothes hanger and hold it in-front of the mic. That worked for something I did a while ago ^_^
Quick question, since Stars was never dubbed in English can the bad guys we haven't heard sound any way, or is there a specific way you would like them to sound?
We want them to be unique and not have some generic voice.
About how much time do the VA's devote to the project? I'm interested in auditioning but idk if I could realistically put in my all with my schedule, its not hectic and shut out but still. :) thanks
I'm pretty flexible when it comes to lines... obviously getting lines done sooner is better than later, but I still understand how busy people are with work and school... now I'll be even busier with work. I will try to work on episodes whenever I get the chance though.

I have a soft voice so i don't know which role could work for me if i try i could change my voice but im still confused on what voice would work for me could you guys help?
Simply record the different styles of voices you can do, and we'll be able to choose you for a character that your voice suits. Some of the time, people will audition for a certain character, but we feel their voice would be more suitable for another character ^_^

Different pitches, accents, super masculine, super feminine, young, and old. Pretty much lots of different styles since it might for the human form you play, and it may be the monster you play.
What types of voices are you look for Sailor Star Maker and Sailor Star Fighter?
Similar to the ones in Japanese. So a deeper voice for Taiki (slightly more feminine for Maker) and a cool voice for Seiya (more feminine again).
I have a question, do you know of any good microphones that are available on a budget? :P I need a new one because the one I'm using picks up noise and I hate it. :c
Apparently there are some good Logitech ones for around $30, but u still need to be somewhere with not much noise, so try and cover up the computer, or record under a blanket or something. Even try the leggings/stocking sheet in front of the mic to reduce puffs

Chibi-Chibi I think rarely says anything other then,'Chibi' but I have heard her say a few lines before, like when she had that thing that held the Starlights' princess in it and they tried to take it from her she didn't say,"Chibi!" Then she said,"No!" And later on when she was asking the starlights if they liked Sailor Moon I think she said,"Do, you like Sailor Moon?"
chibi chibi mostly just says chibi but she also says no and she will sometimes repeat the last couple of words people say. was her name going to be chibi chibi or are your tranlating it to english like the others were?

For Seiren, we would be looking for a Bertie type of accent with a ditzy and personality, whereas Crow would sound more like a Prizma; a strong feminine voice.

Hrmm... it will probably take another year or more... but it all depends on all other factors involved. Although I might have episodes prepared, I still gotta wait for the voice actors to send their lines in.
