8: New Kids on the Block
Episode Plot: It looks like this isn't going to be just another ordinary year for the girls when a popular boy band begins attending their high school. The Tri-Lights (Justin, Jordan and Julian) are making the girls at Crossroads High go wild! But Serena doesn't seem to see what's so special about them, especially since their lead singer (Justin) seems to enjoy making fun of her unusual hairstyle.
And while this is all going on, the high school gets a visit from the devilish Iron Mouse who is tracking down another possible True Power Crystal. Will Crossroads' star football player be holder of one of these powerful gems? When the Sailor Starlights appear yet again, will Sailor Moon and the other Scouts discover their true intentions?

Wow this was incredible! I like the changes you guys did to it. It threw me off at first but then after a while of thinking i understand why you guys did it. It makes unique from any other fandub out there :) I can't wait for all of the future episodes. Ignore all of the haters you guys do a wonderful job each time!

If you're just going to complain and argue back and forth... Don't watch the damn dub! Fighter4Luv and the cast work their asses off for this project and quite frankly it's something amazing. What don't people get? If you don't like it, if you're not happy with it, if you think this voice actress sucks, this voice actor sucks, then don't freakin watch it... Geez. I grew up with the dub, and honestly this is a dream come true for me - Being able to watch the Stars in English. So stop ruining it for those who actually enjoy it.
Wow, amazing job again. This fan dub really combines everything I loved from past series. I showed my sister without telling her it was fan dub, and she didn't question it for a second.
To the troll below, not to be a snob or anything but you're clearly an idiot (a quote from Winston Churchill doesn't make you more credible). That said, your "criticism" is less like "pain in the human body" and more like a benign mole; a worthless blemish that has no real purpose except to ruin the complexion of perfect, healthy skin.
I did notice that this episode is missing the intro sequence. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, since you guys seem to be under a bit of pressure from the fans.

My only criticism is the use of the original and DiC music together, just because they sound so different to each other. But I understand that the DiC music is limited and difficult to find, and you make it work with what can be salvaged.

I have been watching this since episode 1, You are doing a good job with the voices,episodes editing. I do have to agree that "Serena's" voice does sound odd for the role.She is hard to distinguish from Amy's. I'm not trying to bash anyone just give constructive viewpoints from a fan who has watched sailor moon growing up, and who has watched this project since the beginning. I'm excited to see more episodes and I hope you continue with the project.
Except for the voices of the starlights sounding a bit off I think this episode was really well done. I loved it and can't wait for the next episode. :^)

I don't understand your criticism. . . So basically you seem to think that the fandub should be changed just because YOU don't like some of the voices, names, etc? Do you think that everyone who watches the fandub agrees with your opinions? That's pretty egotistical.
If Corey listened to everyones bia suggestions and re-cast anytime an actor/actress was complained about, there would be no cast left, there would be no fandub.
Mippa has played the role for 8 episodes! She has worked hard on this project, and I personally think she is doing an amazing job. In fact, I happen to love Mippa's Serena. I would MUCH rather hear Mippa's Serena than have the role recast with someone who is just going to mimic one of the original DiC voice. . . But what I think is irrelevant. The truth of the matter is, this project is not made just for me, it's not made just for you. it is made for everyone. And you can never please everyone. . .
From the feedback I've seen, many fans love and enjoy this fandub. So maybe next time you have passive aggressive feedback, you will keep them to yourself?
First of all I never complained about the names of the characters....I only had one complaint and that was that Mippa sounds like Amy when shes voicing Serena and that makes it hard to distinguish between the two and that Nyann would make a better Serena, Secondly i don't recall stating that my comment was ment for you so instead of trying to tell me what to do how about you keep your opinions no sorry your -unwanted opinions- to yourself? I simply spoke up because I felt you were being unfairly harsh to Mippa, and my friend, Corey. I think both have worked very hard on this project.

Well clearly there has been a mixup because i never wrote that i saw the comment that you've mentioned but it wasn't me who wrote which is why i started using my name instead of annonymous so that i wouldn't be confused for somebody else who is annonymous. I was not being harsh to Corey at all infact i really like his fandub and i appreciate his effort and tenacity as i said the only problem i had is that Mippa's performance for Serena makes her and Amy sound too identical...simply put.. she needs to make sure theres a distinct difference between the two. No Offense to Mippa but you guys have a totally viable and great Terri Hawkes Serena that is Nyann so why is Mippa Serena? I just don't understand how you can have the obvious choice right infront you and yet you still have Mippa -trying- to sound like Terri Hawkes but she ends up sounding like Amy for both characters... as i said im not trying to be offensive but come on guys really? make Nyann Serena already..please -_-" and just let Mippa stick to what shes good at - Voicing Amy -
I really enjoyed the episode and i want to commend Corey and all the cast and crew who put so much time and effort into make this episode a true Dic delight. There are bound to be tons of naysayers who have nothing better to do then to find the smallest things to nitpick and complain about and ofcourse
they utilize the uncalled for '' big '' words in an attempt to appear intelligent -shakes head- but i digress, Corey ignore the haters this is your fandub and you can do with it as you see fit and im not complaining i loved every minute of your fandub i've been watching since you guys first started on youtube and will continue to watch in the future. Well, I think this dubbing of the fith season is going great! As I am completely blind, and have to rely souly on the audio, i think it's brilliant that someone's having a go, and doing this! I can't wait for the rest of the season, and the missing episodes from the other seasons! Keep up the great work!
Also, I *totally* think Foshizzlin should be Serena's new voice. I mean, have you heard her impersonation of Linda Ballantyne? It's perfect! I'd totally consider recasting Serena. Again, nothing personal against Mippa.
I'm not looking for an impersonator of Linda Ballantyne. I love her as a voice actor in general, but not as Serena. She does not fit the character. Also, Fosh has basically fallen off the radar for a while now... not sure if she will still continue to voice for us (although I hope she does).
This is your personal opinion. It is dangerously arrogant to give this as stated fact. Or at least, with a disclaimer that it is indeed your personal opinion. I happen to believe that Linda was excellent as Serena; in *my* opinion, she was on par with Terri and Tracey.
Do we really have to have the "in my opinion" war? I'm making a personal post, so obviously it's my "personal" belief that Tracey and Terri did a better job of giving the character that extra something... though, it could also be the voice directors fault for forcing her (Linda) to try and sound like Terri (as she states in an interview somewhere). In any case, I guess we can't please everyone. We're just trying to make something entertaining and different to watch. Many fans have said before "if we want to watch the original, we'll watch it in Japanese" so it's for those fans who want that old DIC style, that we're actually doing any of this. You're welcome to help make the episodes "better" if you want :)
You have me summarily misunderstood, comrade. I have absolutely *nothing* against the DiC version—I love it! I grew up with it, my friend. I was only pointing out that *in my opinion,* the clashing DiC and Japanese/Cloverway clues were doing just that—they clash. Also, no opinion war here. You structured your sentence in a way that is open for misinterpretation. As for Linda and her voice directors, it is callous to assume that their direction was wrong. As Linda clearly stated in her interview with Moon Chase!, she came into her own as the "S" series progressed, and Serena became her own creation. Therefore, when opening up a product to a fanbase that is so clearly divided over this hot-button issue, it would be wise to not make any direct, forward, and as-a-matter-of-fact statements for either Terri, Tracey, or Linda. As for contributing to future episodes, I'd be glad to input my thoughts. (:

Ugh. Not to be a snob or anything, but this isn't that great. It's a great effort; it really is. But whomever came up with the idea to butcher the original is just plain wrong. I see no sound reasoning for mixing the DiC cues with the original—it should be either or. Also, what's with the total renaming of every single aspect of the show? "Tri-Lights"? "Justin, Jordan, and Julian"? "True Power Crystals"? WTF? I can't even see DiC or Cloverway making such drastic, idiot, and senseless changes. Further, while some voices are okay, most fall flat. Serena's voice sounds *way* too nasally; no offense to Mippa, but it sounds like she's forcing a failed impersonation of Linda Ballantyne. There's also no clear sound distinction between Serena and Amy. Lita's voice sounds too much like a pubescent boy's, instead of an brawny girl's. The other voices are okay, but the acting needs plenty of improvement; it comes off as if the actors are just reading off lines. The voices of the "Tri-Lights" leave much to be desired. Again, no personal attacks against anyone; I think this was an honestly good effort, but it needs some total revamping. IMHO.

The fact that you're reacting so haphazardly is proof enough that you're non-professional. And to think I actually admired the professional *look* of the episodes; the editing and special effects were nicely done. It was just some minor audio/conceptual things I was pointing out. Sorry for standing up for everyone who worked really hard on this. This project is in collaboration with hundreds of "Sailor Moon" fans. So changes were made coz it was voted upon. Again, I don't appreciate people who say "no offence" but then act really negative against almost everything... you shouldn't be so quick to criticise others so harshly.
I'd love to be pointed towards these voting polls; a link would be much appreciated. As for the "no offense" thing, I mean just that. If one cannot take criticism, then one should not reside in the public sphere. With my comments I intended to only voice my concerns, and *not offend* anyone. Am I the only one whom thinks that Healer's voice is a little shrill? I don't mean to complain, but, jeez. @.@; Her voice seems a tad bit worse then Mimet's voice in the Dubbed series, not that it's as bad, but, still. Just saying is all.
